Michigan Plant's Gain if Indiana's Loss

A company that makes sealants and adhesives for the automotive and construction industries is closing a southern Indiana factory as it plans to shift production to a Michigan plant.

ADCO Products has told the nearly 100 workers at its Evansville factory that it will close by the end of the year. Company President Glenn Frommer says the plant is a century old and was inflexible for an expansion.

The company, instead, picked an ADCO factory near Jackson, Mich., for the expansion that could add more than 200 jobs.

Southwest Indiana Economic Development Coalition chairman Greg Wathen says he had preliminary talks with company officials about a year ago, but they didn't mention that the Evansville plant could be closed.

Indiana has lost jobs but not as many as Mich.Michigan is a good place to bring jobs because thousands need jobs and employers have many people to choose from.Right now many will work for less than what jobs pay in other states.Michigan people know way to well what it is like to be jobless and then run out of unemployment and end up on welfare.A place thousands never thought they would be.However will some employees come along to Mich to keep their jobs?I know Hillsdale county needs jobs and people are waiting. Many would drive to jackson to work if they live in surrounding areas.I just hope they don't hire only through TEMP services.A persons work recorder should speak for its self.Temp services should be banned.
