MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) -- Upper Peninsula members of the U.S. Army Reserves have helped make one boy's dream come true.
Ten-year-old Ladd Anderson is undergoing treatment for leukemia and has said that one of his dreams is to be a soldier like his big brother.
The Army Reserves teamed up with Make-A-Wish Foundation and made that happen Saturday.
WLUC-TV in Marquette reports that Ladd enlisted, took an oath and helped put together a bridge for an upcoming sailboat race.
Participating soldiers say it was a humbling experience.
Sgt. Travis Bradbury says Ladd is "a role model to everybody."
Bradbury says he's jealous of the boy's strength and desire to serve despite his illness.
