THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a woman's body was found burning next to a bonfire at a cabin in the northwestern Lower Peninsula.
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that 63-year-old Patricia Henry of Williamsburg died Saturday at property in Thompsonville that she owned with her husband.
Authorities say the couple started a bonfire and the husband went to sleep. Authorities say he awoke and found her body next to the bonfire pit.
An autopsy was planned. There was no immediate indication of foul play. Thompsonville is located about 25 miles southwest of Traverse City.

Some accounts of this state the husband was asleep inside the house. With doors and windows closed he may not have heard anything. It could be natural causes. She might have been dead before she was burned. If she would have moved away from the fire if she was alert at all.

Maybe she died of other causes and caught fire. Don't make assumptions until you know all the facts.

People need to be cautious of their surroundings. Here was a fire that could have cause a forest fire. People can be sound sleepers.

The woman could have passed out from smoke. Stood up to fast, and inhaled smoke which caused her to pass out and fall into the fire. Kind of like the guy on "Survivor" did. Got burns on his body, and never came back to the show. Very Odd I will admit.

Must be a pretty heavy sleeper to not hear the cries and screams of agony ... unless he was stone-drunk. Or took one of those stupid sleeping pills that make you do weird stuff in your sleep. Why would anyone take something when the warning signs clearly state that you might do things and not remember them? I am so sorry for the horrible way in which this woman died. Hope they get to the truth!
