CHARLOTTE - Criminal charges are levied against a woman who is accused of stealing from a local junior football program. Celeste Jeaneen Foster, 39, of Lansing, was charged Thursday in Eaton county with embezzlement over $1,000 from a non-profit or charity. That is a felony. She's accused of stealing over $17,000 from the Junior Waverly Warrior Football League while she was acting treasurer. The thefts are alleged to have taken place between October 2011 and October 2012. Foster also faces multiple counts of writing checks with non-sufficient funds over $500. Foster was released on $2,000 bond.

The Junior Waverly Warrior Football League is not affiliated with the Waverly School District.

Parents tell News 10 that the embezzlement was discovered last December.
