The 11th Annual Winter Warm-Up kicks off Saturday morning at the Lansing Mall.
The free, nine-week program encourages mid-Michigan residents to develop healthy habits throughout the winter.
The kick-off event includes health screenings, fitness information, and kids games, among other things. It begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until noon in the Macy's wing of the Lansing Mall on W. Saginaw Hwy.
There are events each week until March 22.
The Winter Warm-Up includes a friendly competition between mid-Michigan's cities and townships. Participants record their activity and it counts toward the municipality in which they live. At the end of the nine weeks, the municipalities with the most-active participants win grant money from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
