This week's winter warm-up event is focusing on healthy eating on a budget. You'll learn about quick and easy meal planning and get some free samples.

This is the third full week of the program. Last week, there was a family carnival at the Southside Community Center with all kinds of activities.

This weekend, there's a new, scenic downtown walk after the cooking tips.

The nearly 900 people signed up so far have done over 23,000 miles of activity.

You can sign up to exercise as an individual or, if you want some motivation and people to hold you accountable, you can also sign up as a group.

The city or township with the most activity at the end of the eight weeks wins the most grant money from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

Right now Team Charlotte is in the lead for the Blues Community Challenge. Delhi Township and East Lansing are in second and third place, respectively.

It is not too late to get involved.

You can attend Sunday's event from 2-4 p.m. at the downtown library on Capitol Avenue in Lansing.
