A Williamston man has died from an afternoon accident in Jackson.
Police say William Smith, Jr., 79, did not stop at a stop sign on eastbound Prospect Street at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
He collided with a car that was traveling north on Jackson Street.
Smith was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Two passengers in his car were treated and released for their injuries.
The driver in the other vehicle, a 50-year-old Jackson resident, was not hurt.
Speed and alchol were not factors in the accident, according to police.
