Williamston - A man armed with a gun robbed the Independent Bank in Williamston Friday morning. Police say the man entered the bank at about 10:15a.m., showed the weapon, and was given an undisclosed amount of money. No one was hurt. The man left on foot. Police used a dog to try to track him, but the trail ended abruptly, leading police to believe the thief got into a car. Police tell News 10 that they expect to release surveillance photographs later in the day. Watch News 10 tonight at 6 o'clock for an update.
