In Okemos, Dr. Dennis Perry at Meridian Primary Care, a partner of McLaren-Greater Lansing, is treating allergic dermatitis this week.
That basically includes rashes from any sort of topical insult , like insect bites, poison ivy, swimmer's itch, sun poisoning and heat rash.
To treat allergic dermatitis, Dr. Perry suggests using cool compresses, taking antihistamines, and using topical steroids. If you have a more severe reaction, you should see a doctor.
