WILX has launched mid-Michigan's first and only High-Definition newscasts.

"The difference is dramatic, viewers will be stunned at the quality of our newscast and programming" says Michael J. King, President and General Manager of WILX.

To broadcast in High-Definition, the station has practically rebuilt its core system. In addition to an unparalleled picture, a new news graphics system was added, all new HD cameras were acquired for gathering news in the field and the latest in editing technology has been installed.

The audience will now see images at a much higher resolution, creating a movie theater atmosphere in their living rooms. And you won't need at HD television set to see the difference.

In addition to news, many top rated syndicated programs will also be available in HD, including Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Dr. Oz and Live with Regis and Kelly,

@techguy uh, yeah - the rest of the country was using HD 10 years ago. really, REALLY? Get off your high horse, or just go back to the other channels in mid-michigan and watch your news in SD.

Heck yeah! WILX in HD!! I've missed news 10@11 for quite a while going to bed early so I figured it's been happening for some time. First night? Very cool. Problem is now, it's going to be really hard going back to bed early again - seriously. News10 getting HD is like Verizon getting the iPhone & the local CBS affiliate is looking more like AT&T. People are going to flock to you in droves. Way to go gang, I'm hooked!!
