WILX TV's producer Kaci Babineau has been selected as one of twelve honorees for the distinction of Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter.

The recipients of this award are being honored for their work on behalf of the Ingham County Animal Shelter; raising awareness of animal issues, promoting shelter events, and for their work helping the shelter in the community. The shelter received the highest number of nominations ever—a total of 87 nominations. There are twelve Honorees this year, which is a narrowing of the field from sixteen Honorees, as in years past.

There will be a Humanitarian Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. The banquet will be held at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center, and will feature video interviews with the honorees, a silent and live auction fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the Shelter's Animal Care Fund.

Kaci was selected for this award because of her dedication to the plight of homeless, abused and neglected animals. She keeps in constant touch with the Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter to help raise awareness and bring television coverage to the issues they face everyday. She is extremely proud to be a recipient for the Humanitarian Award, saying any cause involving animals is an important one and to be recognized like this is an amazing honor.
