The Tri-County regional planning commission is going to allow the "Michigan Flyer" to accept a 595-thousand dollar grant. The money will allow it to add four more runs from East Lansing to Ann Arbor to Detroit Metro Airport.

The issue first came up for a vote in may. It was a nine-nine tie which meant the company couldn't take the money. The commission member who missed the original vote was there tonight and voted "yes". Opponents argue it's a bad idea to use tax dollars to take business away from "capital region international airport".
