ROYAL OAK, Mich. (AP) -- It's time again to Run Wild at the Detroit Zoo.

The annual event gets underway Sunday in Royal Oak.

It includes 5K and 10K runs and a noncompetitive 1.5-mile fun walk.

Those taking part in the 5K and 10K events start at the zoo's 10 Mile Road entrance and wind through the streets of Huntington Woods surrounding the zoo. Walkers follow a course that leads them past animal habitats.

Medals are to be presented to the top two male and female finishers in each age category. Participants get a commemorative T-shirt and free admission to the zoo on race day.

A post-race party is to feature live music and complimentary food and beverages

Proceeds benefit the zoo's Ruth Roby Glancy Animal Health Complex and veterinary care.
