Exit polling by Detroit television station WXYZ projects a Republican sweep at the top of the ticket. The polling shows that Rick Snyder and Brian Calley will win Governor and Lt. Governor, Bill Schuette will be the next Attorney General and Ruth Johnson will become Michigan's next Secretary of State.

As the votes are being counted, Rick Snyder is leading Democratic opponent Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero in early returns. Snyder has 62 percent to Bernero's 35 percent with 5 percent of the precincts reporting.

Three third-party candidates also are running.

Tuesday marks the first gubernatorial race since 2002 with no incumbent and the first since the Michigan economy was rocked by the near-collapse of two automakers.

Lansing was in a lose-lose situation. If bernero won, he would have been governor, if he lose, he would still be the mayor. His policies and every other democrat party idea has caused this mess.

If the citizens of Lansing were smart they would start a recall campaign agaist Virg. He lied to Lansing and needs to go away.
