It's Veterans Day and local residents will pay tribute to the men and women of the military by attending local memorials and parades.

In St. Johns, people will line the streets, waving American flags in support of vets. The veterans day parade steps off at 11 a.m., followed by a ceremony at the Clinton County Veterans Memorial.

There is also a Veterans Day parade in Mason at 3 p.m. It steps off from the Ingham County Fairgrounds.

In Jackson, a new monument to honor fallen soldiers will be unveiled at Withington Memorial Park at 11 a.m. It includes the names of four local soldiers who died for our country.

An interactive veterans memorial will be unveiled at Lansing Community College at noon in the Health and Human Services building.

The LCC Interactive Memorial is a beautiful memorial that really represents the life of the honored veterans. I encourage everyone that visits LCC to stop and check out the memorial.
