JACKSON - A man accused of murdering his own son in Spring Arbor will be moving on to trial. On Wednesday a preliminary examination was held in Jackson County District Court for 64-year-old Eldon Huffman. At the hearing, Judge Joseph Filip determined there was enough evidence to try Huffman on the charge of open murder and advanced the case to the circuit court level.
Huffman is accused of shooting his son, 34-year-old Jared Huffman, twice, once in the head, in the early morning hours of January 22 in a home they shared on Ken Drive in Spring Arbor Township.
Huffman has been released from jail on a $25,000 bond while he awaits trial, but will wear an electronic tether.
