New information on the father convicted of child abuse---
Richard Labo was sentenced to one year behind bars Thursday--- however, after 180 days, he must go into in-patient therapy. If that's successful, the rest of his jail sentence will be temporarily suspended.
The judge also sentenced Labo to 3 years probation and must pay fines and court costs.
Labo was arrested in April after leaving his kids alone in a car outside a bowling alley bar while he went drinking with his brother.
Labo testified in September he was celebrating starting college and admitted to having a drinking problem. Since then, Labo has lost visitation rights to his children. It's unknown when or if they will be reinstated.
