ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- An Amtrak train has struck a semi-trailer near Ann Arbor, sending a load of kayaks to the ground.
No injuries were reported Saturday in Ann Arbor Township. Some passengers say that they didn't know there was a collision around 1 p.m. on the Chicago-bound train.
Washtenaw County sheriff's spokesman Derrick Jackson says the semi couldn't cross a one-lane bridge and was backing up over the tracks when the train split it in two. The driver was able to get out of the cab before the crash.
