Thousands Expected at Michigan Pride Rally

Thousands of people are expected in downtown Lansing for the annual Michigan Pride Parade and Rally.

Organizers anticipate 10,000 people to show up at this year's festival, which is both a rally for LGBT rights and a celebration of strides made in the past year.

The event starts with a march from Old Town to the State Capitol at noon.

There will be a rally and commitment ceremony on the Capitol steps starting at 1 p.m., and live entertainment all day in Old Town. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
