The Magic is Back

Basketball great Magic Johnson will be in East Lansing Thursday night. He is taping a program for ESPN at the Jenison Fieldhouse on the campus of MSU. Johnson will gives the winter commencement address Saturday at the Breslin center.


EAST LANSING - Magic Johnson will be taking the court at MSU's Jenison Fieldhouse one more time tonight. Johnson will be at the fieldhouse taping an episode of ESPN's Homecoming with Rick Reilly. The program features A-list athletes in their home towns. Family, friends and major influences are included. The program is being taped at 7 o'clock Thursday night. No word on when it will air.
Johnson is in the area to give MSU's winter undergraduate commencement address. He'll speak to the new graduates at a ceremony in the Breslin Center Saturday morning.
Johnson is a Lansing native who played for Everett High School, before going on to play for MSU and a Hall -of-Fame career in the NBA.
