Jackson Teen's Body Found in Grand River

The body of a missing Jackson teen has been found in the Grand River, the Blackman-Leoni Public Safety Department confirmed Wednesday.

A Jackson County Dive Team aiding in the investigation found the body of 19-year-old Kaley Brooks Tuesday night.

Brooks had been missing since Saturday. Her boyfriend, Nicholas Jackson, was found dead in Leoni Township Sunday. He used a shotgun to take his life. Brooks' blood was found in the rear seat of Jackson's car.

Police say Brooks and Jackson were last seen together at the McDonald's restaurant on Prospect Street in Jackson at around 3 p.m. Saturday.

According to police reports, Jackson was arrested in October for aggravated assault against Brooks, causing extensive injuries.

He was due to be sentenced to jail on Monday, and was under court order to stay away from Brooks.

We will have more details as the story develops.
