Sweden Honors Governor Granholm

The king of Sweden will award Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm one of his country's highest awards.

King Carl XVI Gustaf on Thursday will present Granholm with Sweden's Insignia of First Commander, Order of the Polar Star. It's for her work fostering relations between Michigan and Sweden to promote clean energy.

The ceremony is at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

The Order of the Polar Star was created in 1798. It's awarded to foreigners and members of the Swedish royal family for services to Sweden.

The king visited Michigan in 2008 for the groundbreaking at Flint's Center of Energy Excellence and a climate change conference in Dearborn.

Granholm is in Sweden for a trade trip that also has taken her to France.

Hey, Bek, why don't you stop drinking the koolaid and spouting off in a volatile fashion to someone who simply pointed out that certain people like to say Socialist like it's equivalent to the nastiest curse word you can think of. I in no way said I was one, oh ignorant, spouting one. Why don't you give me your address and I'll send you my mounting bills-see how stupid that sounds? I am in no way a stupid drone as I don't align to any party and prefer to remain independant and vote for who I choose, not paying so much attention as to what they call themselves but by what they say and back up with action. Show me how Democracy has worked out so well and then we'll discuss any other form of government you'd like, but until you can convince me that the way it is now is so grand, keep your ever-loving, ignorant, clueless mouth shut. I find it horribly ironic for one of the stone throwers to have the gall to call ME the stupid drone. Truly laughable-thanks, I needed that.

Hey Jen, how about you move to a socialist country and stay there since you like it so much! Then when you see what a failure it really is we will all take delight in laughing at you! Since you are so dang smart, why don't you do your homework and you will see that socialism has never worked! Ever! And it never will. Oh, wait, why don't you just give us all your address and phone number and we will send you all our bills and taxes since you seem to like paying for everyone else so much! Stupid drone!

Ahh, yes, as apparent by the last two comments, the elephant parade has started. Leave it to the right-wing to find something negative in something postive simply because it's not one of theirs getting the award or improving international relations. "SPO", you're nothing but an ignorant idiot as evident in your post. I can't wait for the day when you ridiculous, utterly idiotic people stopping throwing the "S" word ('shudder', yes it's Socialism I dare speak the name of) word around as if it's the worst curse word on the planet. Get over yourselves already as all you end up doing is parading your ignorance around similar to the nakedness paraded around by the Emperor in "The Emperor's New Clothes"; someone will call you out eventually, and here I am to start the shouts.

What was the carbon footprint for these Michigan to Sweden, Sweden to Michigan trips? Did the taxpayers pick up the tab for the flight? Another for show exercise by the governor.
