Suspect in February Shooting Arrested

LANSING - A suspect in the shooting of a teenage girl in Lansing has been arrested nearly three months after the incident. 18-year-old Uriah Jackson is charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder. Police say Jackson shot a 16-year-old girl outside a home in the 1100 block of West Maple Street on February 2nd. Jackson was arrested in Eaton County.

Lansing Police say Jackson was caught, after police received information of his whereabouts from an observant off duty Lansing Police Explorer. Explorers are a part of the Boy Scouts who are interested in careers in law enforcement.

In addition to the assault with intent to murder charges, Jackson is charged with two weapons related crimes. He's being held on $100,000 bond.
