Students Involved in Fatal Accident on I-75

Two University of Michigan students are dead after a car crash.

The single-car crash happened around 9 a.m. Saturday morning on Interstate 75 in Arenac County.

Three passengers in the back seat were seriously injured. According to a student I.D.,one victim is a Michigan State University student.

New reports are finding the car lost it's power steering, causing the driver to lose control.

The three passengers were taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw.

    Another weekend of tradgedy....more young lives lost in accidents. Heart goes out to their family. May want to change the report some, Arenac county is not located in the Upper Peninsula - it's near the thumb area.

    SAD, but if indeed TEXTING was the cause, I guess this could be used as an Example of WHY NOT TO TEXT while you are behind the wheel ! college kids with their whole life in front of them, and they just dont realize the danger of this yet?

    Arenac County isn't in the Upper Penisula.
