The Ingham Co. Health Dept. is holding a health fair this week to get kids ready to go back to school.
Vision, hearing and dental screenings are available, as are immunizations and a fluoride varnish for kids.
Parents will also find several educational and community-related resources.
"We have great opportunities for community partners," says Lisa Chambers, a family outreach services supervisor. "We have libraries, preschool sign-up is here, we have opportunities for free backpacks and giveaways."
Last year, more than 300 kids attended the back-to-school health fair. Organizers are hoping for 500 students this year.
The health fair runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Ingham Co. Health Dept.
