Stolen Weapons Investigation Nets 24 Long Guns

MIDLAND, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities investigating the sale of stolen firearms at a mid-Michigan trade show have recovered 24 long guns, ammunition and other items.

The Midland County sheriff's department says Thursday in a release that detectives were told by another police agency that a man was selling stolen weapons at a Clare County gun show.

Midland deputies spoke with the man and said he claimed not to know the guns were stolen.

They later arrested and charged 29-year-old Justin Boroughf in connection with the case. Boroughf of Saginaw County was arraigned Friday on firearms and receiving and concealing stolen property charges. He was being held in the Montcalm County Jail on a parole detainer.

The Associated Press left a message Thursday seeking comment from Boroughf's attorney.
