Michigan To Unveil Autism Plan

By: News 10

Facts from the CDC:

- 1 of every 88 children in America have autism

- In 2013, more kids will be diagnosed with autism than AIDS, cancer and diabetes combined

- Boys are five times more likely to be diagnosed with autism than girls

16,000 students in our state have autism, and on Monday, the state will announce its plan to offer better help to them and their families.
This comes from a special board Gov. Snyder created last summer to learn more about autism spectrum disorders.

Lt. Gov. Brian Calley has been a key member of the board and helped pass a law that requires most state-regulated health insurers to offer some coverage for autism treatment. Lt. Gov. Calley has a daughter with autism.

Perhaps if we didn't have to pay so much in tax dollars to support able-bodied, lazy adults, we might be able to spend more on special needs children. We must go back to the days of expecting and demanding that adults take responsibility for themselves and their families, instead of allowing the fifth and sixth generational welfare-as-a-way-of-life to continue. We must also cut spending at the Federal and State levels, beginning with (gasp) all of the unnecessaray and duplicated agencies and personnel. I know Snyder doesn't want to add to the unemployment numbers, but is it fair to force the reduced number of private sector workers to carry so many of them on our shoulders?

I find this funny.. I sent a letter to Gov Snyders office about a mth ago , Voicing my concerns with my sons Autism diagnosis and not getting the help we need when we need it because we make to much money.I just received a letter back from them today through email Thanking me for my concerns , and I get on Facebook and find this.. Maybe we need more people voicing their concerns to get what we really need !!

It's about time we stopped paying for the drug habits of the public leaches. However, I doubt it will last because in this country those of us who pay the taxes don't have any rights, only those protected by the ACLU have any rights. You know, like people in prison, and those on welfare.
