KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) -- A squirrel found its way into a West Michigan substation, damaging equipment and knocking out power to more than 2,000 homes and businesses in Kalamazoo.
MLive.com reports that most downtown gas stations were closed and stoplights were out Sunday morning.
The outage was reported about 9:35 a.m. Sunday. All power was restored about 1:40 p.m.
Consumers Energy spokeswoman Debra Dodd says the squirrel got into the substation despite animal control equipment at the facility.
