EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The Michigan State University Marching Band will show high school musicians how it's done and possibly recruit new members during a performance at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The Bands of America Grand National Championships begin Friday and welcome 90 high school marching bands from across the country.
The two-day event also is a recruiting opportunity for college bands.
Michigan State's band will be one of two exhibition bands to perform. The Spartans will spend 15 minutes playing traditional football game pieces and a medley of music by Journey.
The Spartan marching band has made a number of appearances at bowl games, including four Rose Bowls.
