Fresh off their Rose Bowl win, the Spartans returned home from Pasadena Thursday night and hundreds of fans were ready to greet them in East Lansing.
Despite the bitter cold temperatures fans still turned out to support their team at the Skandalaris football center on MSU's campus.
"Oh wouldn't have missed it, wouldn't have missed the opportunity," said Linda Fedewa. "We have a lot of layers of clothes on."
MSU's Athletic Director Mark Hollis said they were grateful for the turnout and the school is already planning a bigger event for fans next week at the Breslin Center once students return to town.
"Great group here, very proud that they're out here," Hollis said. "It's exciting, it's great to be back in Michigan even regardless of the weather."
Head Coach Mark Dantonio addressing the media Thursday night thanked the fans for their dedication.
"It's impressive and it shows the passion that people have for Michigan State and the Spartans and I appreciate it very much," Dantonio said.
While the players, just trying to soak it all in and enjoy their win.
"It's 70 degrees there, we get off the plane and it's 7 degrees here and our fan base still comes out," said MSU Linebacker Kyler Elsworth. "We couldn't be happier to have the support of Spartan Nation."
"It shows what Spartan Nation is about and we stick together," said MSU wide receiver Bennie Fowler. "Just so glad to be a part of it and just so happy."
