Sparky Anderson Dies

One day after being placed in hospice care, former Detroit Tigers and Cincinnati Reds manager Sparky Anderson has died in Thousand Oaks, California, his hometown. Anderson was 76 and suffered from advanced dementia. He managed the Tigers for 17 years from 1979 through 1995 and he had been in declining health the past year. He was inducted into baseball's hall of fame in 2000.

    Sparky you will be so missed. I remembed watching the 84 world series and getting to meet you. We have lost a very a dear member of the MLB community. God Speed Sparky! we will miss you very much. Thank you for the fond memories that you gave us!
