The transition teamwork continues between outgoing Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Republican Gov.-elect Rick Snyder.
The families of the Michigan leaders are scheduled to have dinner Monday at the governor's Lansing residence.
Snyder said Friday he appreciates Granholm's thoughtfulness in hosting the dinner. He said it will give his children a chance to talk to Granholm's children about experiences they can expect when they become part of Michigan's first family.
Granholm is term-limited and couldn't seek re-election. Snyder is sworn in Jan. 1.
Granholm toured some state offices with Snyder and Lt. Gov.-elect Brian Calley earlier this week.
Granholm and Snyder also cooperated to reshape the leadership of the Michigan Economic Development Corp. headed into next year. Both had the opportunity to pick members of the agency's new executive board.
