Governor-elect Rick Snyder is expected to keep Kirk Steudle as director of the Michigan Department of Transportation and appoint Kriste Etue as director of the Michigan State Police.
A transition team spokesman for the Republican Snyder says the appointments are to be formally announced today.
Steudle has led the transportation department since 2006 under Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm. He is a veteran of the department and first started working there in the late 1980s.
Etue now is a deputy director of the Michigan State Police and the first woman to be promoted to the rank of Lt. Col. in the department's history.
