LANSING -- In an unusual move, Gov. Rick Snyder will unveil his fiscal 2012 budget proposal himself.
The Associated Press learned Monday that the Michigan governor plans to give a budget overview and talk about the tax changes he wants to make when the budget is unveiled Thursday.
Budget Director John Nixon will speak on budget specifics, while Lt. Gov. Brian Calley will discuss tax details.
The budget presentation will take place at 11 a.m. at the Senate Hearing Room in the Boji Tower across from the Capitol. It will be given to a joint session of the House and Senate Appropriations committees, the Senate Finance and the House Tax Policy committees.
In past years, the presentation was given by the budget director in the House Appropriations meeting room at the Capitol.

A budget?Isn't this rather saying one thing-We can't get enough jobs to this state to put thousands back to work.So----------------------.Cut this & that. After all what can people do about anything.Like it,or leave this state & go where. We come to this country to change things. Now we are right back where we started.Only missing the one thing that will make or break this country."GOD"I really think what we do now in this country says where many will end up in the end of it all.I guess that does NOT matter to our government as they have many things as far away from Godly as possible.I feel for so many on judgment day. There are many that don't believe in such a thing. As they treat others the way they want, not the way they would want to be treated. This country has became such a sad place for many.I'm glad God don't judge us for what we have.No stairways to heaven can be bought.

Keep in mind he is presenting a 'roll up' budget without specifics or detail, only a fewlines per department and wants to let department heads figure out what to fund. He will learn the hard way and the smack down will come quickly from the legislature that his 'plan' is unacceptable. The appropriations process is in place for a reason and cannot be side stepped by the new Gov. just like the CSC cannont be abolished by Bolger because he is have a hissy fit. It won't be long and Snyder will be just riding out his term. Michigan will recover and is recovering in spite of the nerd.
