GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Western Michigan authorities say a small plane has crash-landed near the Grand Haven airport, injuring the pilot.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. Sunday on a road just east of the Grand Haven Memorial Airpark.

Authorities say the pilot was the only person aboard. Witnesses tell WOOD-TV that the pilot had some facial injuries and said he had neck and back pain.

The pilot says it was the first time he flew the experimental biplane.
