Six local communities signed a mutual aid agreement for their fire departments, the first step on the long road towards a merger. The agreement covers Lansing, East Lansing and Meridian, Delta, Delhi and Lansing Townships. The agreement is based on a report recommending the communities merger their fire departments over the next few years to cut costs.
