LANSING - A man is robbed in Lansing's Moores Park. Police believe it is drug related. At about 2:15PM Tuesday, Lansing Police were sent to Moores Park on a report of shots being fired there.
While en route, the victim called police to say he had been shot at and assaulted. The victim, a 37-year-old man from Harrison, told police he was having lunch in the park with his girlfriend and another friend, when two men got out of car behind him. One of the men pointed a gun and demanded the keys to the victim's car and his money. The victim tells police he refused to comply, and the man started shooting at him. The shots missed. Then the armed man physically assaulted him and stole a large amount of cash from his pocket. The two thieves then drove away in a silver-colored ,Chrysler Sebring.
Lansing police say the victim and the girlfriend are vague and uncooperative in their description of events, but their friend did admit to police that the incident was drug related. Police continue to investigate.
