MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) -- A sentencing hearing has been postponed for a suburban Detroit woman in the bathtub drowning of her 4-year-old grandson.

Terry Borgia was scheduled for sentencing Wednesday, but Macomb County Circuit Judge Peter Maceroni adjourned the case after defense attorney Mark Haddad filed a motion for a new trial.

Maceroni ordered the parties to return May 29 to argue the motion and for Borgia's possible sentencing.

Borgia was convicted last month in the 2010 death of DeAngelo Tobia. Borgia stood trial three earlier times before she was found guilty of first-degree murder in her fourth trial.

DeAngelo drowned at a Clinton Township apartment the 63-year-old Borgia shared with her adult daughter, who's the boy's aunt.

First-degree murder carries a mandatory penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
