Michigan Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville says Gov. Rick Snyder has put a lot on the table with his budget plan that will need thorough review.
The Republican senator from Monroe says lawmakers now must closely examine both the big picture and the details being presented.
Snyder is asking for shared sacrifice from everyone from senior citizens to state workers, public schools to city halls as he seeks to make up a $1.4 billion budget gap with a massive budget overhaul. The governor is to present the plan to lawmakers Thursday.
Richardville has been briefed on some details. He says a team already is looking at proposals such as halting a scheduled decrease in the state income tax rate.
Snyder has asked lawmakers to approve the budget by May 31
