A statue of a young girl holding a bird was stolen from its location near downtown East Lansing's Fountain Square.

The 30-inch bronze sculpture, titled "Laura", was reported missing Thursday morning. It is valued at $50,000 and was donated by Tomie Raines.

It was a centerpiece of the Children's Sculpture Garden, located on the northeast corner of the Albert-M.A.C. intersection.

The East Lansing Police Department is investigating the theft, as well as a bronze duck sculpture stolen from the garden last September.
