Schwarz Backing Schauer in 7th District Race

Former Republican U.S. Rep. Joe Schwarz is again endorsing the Democrat running for the seat he once held.
U.S. Rep. Mark Schauer's campaign said Tuesday that a group calling itself "Republicans for Schauer" is announcing its support for the Battle Creek incumbent.
The group includes Gary Reed, a former executive director of the Michigan Republican Party. It's co-chaired by former Kellogg Co. Vice President Joe Stewart and former GOP state Sen. Hal Ziegler.
Schwarz represented the south-central Michigan district from 2005-06, but lost the GOP primary to Tim Walberg. Schauer beat Walberg in 2008, and the pair are locked in a tight rematch this year.
Schwarz also endorsed Schauer in 2008. He now considers himself an independent.

GW, I have to strongly disagree with you. I look around Hillsdale and Jackson counties and see so many people trying to get by on unemployment benefits or welfare because Walberg supported, and still supports, outsourcing. They had a job that payed a living wage; but now, are trying to survive at near or below poverty levels because their job was outsourced. Walberg also supports NAFTA, and other free trade agreements. His position is to help his friends in big business and oil to keep their huge salaries and bonuses while they pay their workers next to nothing. What is needed in these counties are living wage jobs---which are painfully absent in this district! Walberg doesn't get it. Schauer's position is the opposite of Walberg's. Schauer wants to help people to attain better lives. I don't get that feeling from Walberg. His interest appears to be only business. I would say that Schauer was more in touch with people of 7th District.

Schwarz is a Republican in name only (RINO) and has been for as long as I have known of him (15yrs). He has nothing good to say about any other Republican candidate and supported Obama for president. This man would have voted for ObamaCare as Schauer has done. Therefore, I doubt he has many supporters in his "group". Walberg was more in touch with his constituancy in the 7th district better than either Schwartz or Schauer. I believe Tim Walberg is the best choice for the voters in the 7th district. He has shown a willingness to listen while the other two have not.

Can we say.....Bitter? Schwarz was a RINO. So this is no surprise at all.
