The budget fight in Washington leads to another protest by social security workers here in Lansing today.
The American Federation of Government Employees Social Security workers will be having a picket at the Lansing Social Security Office.
Workers say the plan by house Republicans would cut $1.7 billion dollars from the Social Security Administration's budget, and that would lead to layoffs and furloughs.
Under the conditions, there would also be a longer wait for social security benefits and disability claims.
The picket runs from noon to one outside of the Lansing Social Security Office.

Why they want to hurt the poor in this country I do not understand. It is like they are trying to fade us old people out.No SS raises,Programs being cut.If they cut all they want,it will allow the rich to get even richer. When is this going to stop !
