A $10,000 reward is being offered for information in the case of a 23-year-old Eastern Michigan University student whose December death was ruled a homicide.

Julia Niswender was a Monroe native and was an undergraduate at the Ypsilanti school. Her family tells AnnArbor.com that the reward is being offered by Duvall Group Investigations PLLC, whose owner is a family friend. The family says it hasn't hired the private investigator.

Niswender's body was found in her bedroom Dec. 11 at an apartment across the street from the campus police station in Ypsilanti. Her death is under investigation.

Niswender's twin sister Jennifer says the family is "hoping that this helps spread the word and helps catch whoever did this as soon as possible."
