We've done a great job at improving our cars to improve patient care and survival, but even airbags can cause trauma. It's basically a shotgun shell goig off in your face and chest, it can cause a lot of blunt injury.

EMERGENCY ROOM DOCTORS-IN-TRAINING SPENT THE DAY LEARNING WHAT FIRST RESPONDERS DO TO PATIENTS BEFORE THEY'RE BROUGHT TO THE HOSPITAL.
SUPERVISORS WANT THE RESIDENT DOCTORS HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROCEDURE,, AND TO ASK BETTER QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ACCIDENT VICTIMS.

THIS IS JUST ONE OF A SERIES OF TRAINING SESSIONS FOR THE RESIDENTS... OTHER "LABS" TEACH THEM ABOUT SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS,, AND ABOUT HIGH-ROPE RESCUES.
