LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Rainy weather has forced Michigan Department of Transportation officials to cancel weekend roadwork in the Lansing area.
The Lansing State Journal (http://on.lsj.com/P5z6jl ) says work on Interstate 96 and US 127 that was scheduled to begin Friday night and carry over through the weekend has been postponed to a later date. Work included bridges at Michigan Avenue and Vine Street, and would have resulted in lane closures.
MDOT says a lane closure planned for westbound I-96 in Livingston County also has been postponed.
Officials say the work was postponed because of rainy weather.
