President Obama Releases Birth Certificate

President Barack Obama says he's releasing his long-form birth certificate because the country doesn't have time for the "distraction" and "silliness" of questions being persistently raised about where he was born.

The president spoke at the White House Wednesday after taking the unexpected step of releasing the document, which supplements Hawaii's official certification of the president's birth there. Obama had released that during the campaign.

Polls show large numbers of Republicans continue to doubt Obama is a natural born citizen eligible to be president. Real estate mogul Donald Trump had seized on the issue as he weighs a GOP candidacy.

Obama said the nation will solve its problems only if it's not distracted by such issues.

I thought that the State of Hawaii producing the birth certificate would be the end, but I just had a revelation. The so called Birther's or Bigots take the words White house to mean just that only a white man sitting in the white house. Now their ranting and raving makes sense. Sans was right these are foaming at the mouth biggots.

Did I miss something? The state of Hawaii produced the birth certifcate! What part of that do you not understand? The STATE of HAWAII not Obama! When the hell did the USA turn into Nazi Germany? Are so many of you bigots? Wasps? I am appalled that people living in a Democratic society are so anti- anything but lily white anglo saxon protestant. Whats next: Jews to wear a star on their clothes, Catholics to wear a cross? Blacks to wear a black stripe? What the hell is wrong with people in this country? When did the USA become nothing but a country made up of bigots? Get real folks, most of us are NOT like you, never will be Thank God, This is a free country, and while you are entitled to your beleifs except the fact that you are not birthers but bigots, and wear the name proudly, you really earned it.

As some of the comments show, it did not matter whether President Obama produced his long birth form or not: there are always will be some people who believe he is not a natural born American. If the State of Hawaii is satisfied that Obama is a legally natural born citizen of the U.S., why can these people not accept it? The former Republican Governor of Hawaii accepts that Obama is natural born. So does the current Democratic Governor. Is it really better to ignore trying to solve the problems this country has right now in favor spending time, money, and energy on a meaningless distraction that will accomplish very little?

After viewing the document, I believe it will be deemed by experts to be a fake. There's a white halo around the name and the background color and lines are missing. This is common when using a photo shop product to white-out areas of a document. Additionally, the font used for the name is different than that used for the rest of the document (particularly the capitol "K" in the name when comparing to the others in the document). If there wasn't a 'problem' with his birth certificate, it would have been presented back when he ran for the Senate in Illinois, and again when he ran for the Presidency.

He cant get his socialist ideas out if he has to prove he is legit. I am waiting to see the first black conservative female in office. She would either get the country running in the right track or ruin us forever.

I wish he would have done this when the question first arose so as to stop the speculation. Why leave questions in peoples minds when producing the document is so easy. I think that is why people continue to question.

I think people are wasting too much time on petty stuff. How is this going to help our country get out of this mess if you don't give him a chance. You forget it took Bush and everyone else to put us in this mess, it's going to take time and team work from all people living in this country to get us out of it. Stop being childish this is not a solution it just wastes time.
