The suspects in the death of State Trooper Paul Butterfield will find out if they'll stand trial October 11.

That's when preliminary exams will be held for Eric and Sarah Knysz.

Eric Knysz is charged with shooting Trooper Butterfield. His wife is charged with helping him escape.

Butterfield died shortly after he was found by the side of the road in Mason County on September 9.

Investigators believe he had pulled over the suspects. They aren't saying why they think Knysz pulled a gun.

Knysz also faces weapons, theft, and assault charges.

We'll let you know if the judge decides there's enough evidence to put the couple on trial.
