Poll Finds Support for Same-Sex Marriage Growing in Michigan

A Michigan State University poll has found an increase in support for gay marriage in Michigan, with 56 percent of adults questioned saying they support the same-sex unions.
Michigan State economics professor Charles Ballard directs the quarterly State of the State Survey, which questions Michiganians about a variety of subjects.
He says the increase in state support for same-sex marriage mirrors trends around the country.
The telephone poll of 1,015 Michigan adults was conducted June 12-Aug. 13, and the results have a margin of sampling error of 3 percentage points up or down.
Opposition to gay marriage stood at 39 percent in this year's poll. Two years ago, 51 percent said they opposed gay marriage, while 48 percent supported it.

To Me; The envitable collapse will be caused by the greed of the politicians not same sex marriages. If you read studies you will find the women during WWII who lived in heavily bombed areas during their first trimester had a higher percentage of homosexual babies. So we can blame the mothers for not controlling their stress so it didn't effect the fetuses. I don't really care what two consenting adults do, nor do I care how people decorate their homes or spend their money because it really doesn't effect me.

The statistics is simple to understand. The premise is that you sample a set number of people to represent the cross-section of the population. The sampling error is what is explain the accuracy of the polls compare to what the actual numbers were. hence 3 percent means that their numbers my be 3 percent higher or lower than reality. Now polling number is starting to get less accurate as the number of ways to communicate with a person expands and where they want to take their sample population. These are the numbers I would expect to see from a liberal view point. The numbers they called are around the east lansing area. The other issue is the time of day the poll was taken or if they did not bother calling back to numbers that did not answer. If either one of these factors was not included the poll would favor those who do not have a lifestyle that does not include leaving the home or those who do not want to be bothered by an unknown caller. If the majority of the numbers of this survey was taken out of the 906 area code, I would have expected the opposite. If polls were accurate, we would have had Al Gore as president and we might have had hundreds of thousands of lives lost on US soil because of terrorism.

Liberals will be the down-fall of the country and society in general. Anything goes with these nuts.

@Me "We hold these Rights to be self-evident...That among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." You might recall these words in a little thing called our Declaration of Independence. Seems like marriage, of any sort, falls under all three of these. As long as the participants are competent, consenting adults WHY do you care? I guess that's your right, eh?

If you don't believe in gay marriage, then don't have one. It's as simple as that.

The 'right' to be married isn't a right at all. Freedom to express an opinion is....NOT to actually be married. Why do all you libs think everyone should have the right to do anything they please. If there is no standard in society...it will enevitably collapse.
