Police and Family Pleading For Information on Toddler's Death

The nightmare began with a devastating phone call from his wife Monday afternoon: "I said, is he alive? Tell me that!" the grandfather of 2-year-old Brandon Kemp shouted in a panic. "She said no, that he was dead."

Brandon was Mike Kemp's only grandson and his favorite little football player. It's tough to even register that he's gone, let alone that someone in the area probably killed him.

"For something like this to happen the way it did, I cannot even explain it," continued Kemp.

Lansing police were never called to the residence of Brandon and his mother when he was found injured. Now police need anybody who can share anything they noticed about Brandon and the people closest to him during the final days of his life.

"It they've had any contact with the child Brandon Kemp in the last 30 days, or if they've had contact with the child's residence, please give our investigations division a call," said Lansing Police Captain Daryl Green.

Captain Green says if he released any more details at this point could hurt the investigation. He could not confirm if there are any suspects yet, but did say: "All the persons we've talked to so far have been very cooperative."

With any answers to why Kemp will never see his grandson again, he hopes you will offer any information you have. That way, the whole family can continue their grieving process.

"If anybody knows the where-abouts of people involved, please come forward," continued Kemp.

Whether is was a passing glance or brief conversation in that time period, a little detail could close this case.

This is very sad and I pray that justice will be served. I have a 15 month old and I could not imagine ever losing him. We are living in some evil last days.

everyone in presumed innocent until proven guilty. But it sure looks like he is guilty given his history and past record with other relationships.
