JACKSON, Mich. (AP) -- Jackson police say a 20-year-old woman is expected to face charges after assaulting her boyfriend, then hitting a pedestrian and another car with her vehicle.
Police Lt. Elmer Hitt tells the Jackson Citizen Patriot that the female suspect parked her car Sunday after seeing her 23-year-old boyfriend walking on the sidewalk. Police say she approached him and began hitting him with her hands.
Hitt said the suspect got back into her car, backed into a pedestrian, then pulled forward and collided with a parked car. The pedestrian suffered minor hip injuries and refused treatment.
The woman remains in custody and is expected to face charges this week.
Jackson is about 70 miles west of Detroit.
